Product Description Celebrate a century of the open road with our Route 66 Centennial Commemorative Acrylic Stamp! Precision-engineered for professional leather crafters, hobbyists, and makers, this deeply engraved stamp allows you to transfer the rich heritage of the Mother Road directly onto your leather projects. As the historic highway approaches its 100-year milestone (1926–2026), this design captures the timeless spirit of American adventure. The layout features the iconic Route 66 highway shield, proudly flanked by waving American flags, classic desert cacti, a vintage cruiser silhouette, and deeply detailed banners marking the centennial celebration. As shown in the crisp impression, this stamp is optimized to deliver flawless depth, crisp text alignment, and sharp detail definition even on heavy veg-tan leather. Whether you are creating commemorative coasters, custom wallets, patches, or embellishing the backs of custom holsters and notebook covers, this heavy-duty acrylic stamp is built to yield consistent, professional results under your shop press. Key Features & Specifications Premium Clarity Acrylic: Thick, durable, optical-grade acrylic allows for precise visual alignment on your leather workpiece before you apply pressure. High-Detail Depth: Deeply laser-engraved to ensure fine lines, small text, and background elements register clearly without bottoming out or blurring the surrounding grain. Centennial Commemorative Artwork: Features a complete, original tribute layout including “The Mother Road,” “100 Year Anniversary,” “1926-2026,” and “U.S. Highway”. Built for the Bench: Engineered to withstand standard arbor press, hydraulic press, or bench vise pressure when used with proper c-clamps or damp leather casing. Made in Southwest Missouri: Proudly designed, engraved, and tested right along the historic paths of the Ozarks. Recommended Usage Tips Case Your Leather: For the crispest impression , lightly case your vegetable-tanned leather and allow the surface moisture to return to its natural color. Even Pressure: Use an arbor press, shop press, or a flat-plate vise to apply slow, steady, and uniform vertical pressure across the entire surface of the acrylic block. Protect Your Tools: Always use a smooth backing material underneath your leather to prevent grain distortion and ensure maximum detail transfer. ***SPECIAL NOTE: How to Use Your Stamp*** Important! Never use a hammer! We design this stamp for steady, even pressure, not sharp hits. Therefore, using a hammer will definitely break the acrylic stamp and cancel your lifetime guarantee. You must use an arbor press or a vise for the best impressions. First, remember that the leather needs to be cased (wetted). Use a wet sponge to moisten the entire piece of leather evenly. Otherwise, if you don’t wet all the leather, you will get water spots on the finished project. We create the images you see in this listing using a press and a thick piece of leather placed on top of the stamp to spread out the pressure. Arbor Press Instructions: Place your cased leather on a strong, solid surface directly under the press’s anvil. Put the stamp on top of the cased leather. Place a solid block (wood or metal works best) on top of the stamp. This helps to spread the pressure evenly. Apply slow, downward pressure with the press and hold it for 15-20 seconds. Check your result. Repeat as needed to get the perfect depth. Vise Instructions: Put your cased leather and the stamp between two hard objects, like a board. Squeeze them tightly so the stamp does not move. Place this setup inside your vise. Tighten the vise slowly and hold the pressure for 15-20 seconds. Release the vise and check how deep the imprint is. Repeat as necessary. This stamp includes a lifetime guarantee. If, for any reason, the stamp stops giving an acceptable image, simply return it, and we will send you a new one. However, the guarantee is void if you use the stamp with a hammer. Custom Logos Available: I have these stamps in stock and can also make custom logos for you. So, if you need a custom design, please send your black and white image to [email protected]. After I look at the image, I will let you know if I can produce it. Want to see how to prep your leather?
